Operation Raleigh: One of the reasons why I'm going....

One of the many reasons I'm going to Borneo in February is to help the Orangutan population. I was shocked to discover a few weeks ago that due to severe logging and forest fires, up to 1000 orangutans have been killed. Also, because of the need for Palm Oil, the orangutans habitat has been slowly destroyed which means that they could become an extinct species in as little as 15 years, along with other species such as the rare pygmy elephants. The island of Borneo holds 44 types of mammel found nowhere else on earth and according to recent studies, 350 new species of flora and fauna have been discovered there in the last 10 years. We cannot stand by whilst this wildlife treasure trove is slowly disintegrating before us. Thanks to the efforts of charities like Operation Raleigh, this is being slowed down and hopefully I can make at least a small difference when I'm there. But I need YOUR help. DONATE!!!!
